Rock, Polzeath, Port Isaac, Camel Trail and Padstow are all on our doorstep.
Rock Beach and the Camel Estuary is a paradise for water lovers, offering sailing, kayaking, water-skiing, stand-up paddle boarding, pleasure boat and fishing trips. The ferry and evening water taxi can be taken from Rock to Padstow, a small yet bustling historic fishing town across the estuary. Padstow has many shops, bars and restaurants on its harbour front and narrow streets, including Rick Stein's Seafood Restaurant and Paul Ainsworth No 6 Restaurant.
Rock has a fine selection of Restaurants, Grills, Bars and shops and for a fine dining experience, The Dining Room on the Rock Road is fantastic. The Pityme Pub is only a short walk approximately 300m up the road from Sanderling and offers a great selection of food and drink.
Around from Rock is Daymer Bay, a safe family beach with superb windsurfing and kite surfing. Surfing and body boarding at Polzeath is excellent and safe, with lifeguards patrolling the beach in the daytime for much of the year.
The local golf clubs, St.Enodoc and Roserrow, are only a short drive away. Both can also be easily reached on foot for interesting walks.
Walking is varied, with gentle walks along the beaches and the golf course and farmland footpaths, to the more strenuous yet spectacular North Cornwall coastal footpath.
For those looking for adventure then coasteering or kayaking are available at nearby Port Quin.
Cycling along the Camel Trail offers great views of the estuary and River Camel. Bikes can be hired from Padstow and Wadebridge, with the trail continuing well beyond Bodmin.
A short drive away is Port Isaac, the pretty and historic fishing village which has been made famous by the TV series Doc Martin.
